Join us for a Night at the Fort

We invite volunteers, family and friends of participants, sponsors, and others interested in protecting the Mississippi River and supporting Friends of the Mississippi River to join us for Night at the Fort on the evening of Saturday, July 30th at Historic Fort Snelling. There will be a hearty meal provided by local sponsors Scene from Fort Snelling(vegetarian option available), live music, cold beverages including root beer and Surly beer, historic actors, and more.

For participants in the Mississippi River Challenge, the price for the evening’s festivities is included in your registration fee. Others interested in joining us for the evening may do so for $25 per person ($20 if you register by July 1) for admission to Historic Fort Snelling, music, the meal, and beverages (3 beer or non-alcoholic beverage tickets included). The fee is $10 for children 12 and under. If you would like to skip the meal, but still want to come and listen to music, the fee is $10. Up to three beer tickets may be purchased separately for adults with ID. Anyone interested in attending and eating a meal at Night at the Fort MUST register by July 20th to ensure that we order enough food.

Those attending the evening’s festivities may arrive at Historic Fort Snelling anytime after 6 PM and are welcome to camp alongside the paddlers. Stop by the check-in table to get your wristband which serves as your admission ticket. Breakfast is not included and we ask that visitors leave coffee and breakfast items for paddlers who are about to embark on another 22-mile journey. All paddlers and visitors must be out of the fort grounds no later than 9 AM.
