Join us for the Night at the Fort

Scenes from Fort SnellingWe invite volunteers, family and friends of participants, sponsors, and others interested in the event to join us for the Night at the Fort on Saturday evening in Historic Fort Snelling. There will be a hearty meal provided by local sponsors including Thousand Hills Cattle Company (vegetarian option available), live music, cold beverages including root beer and Summit beer, historic actors and more.

For participants in the Mississippi River Challenge, the price for the evening’s festivities is included in your registration fee. Others interested in joining us for the evening may do so for $20 per person for music, the meal and non-alcoholic beverages ($10 for children 12 and under), which also covers your admission to the historic fort. If you would like to skip the meal, but still want to come and listen to music, the fee is $10. Up to three beer tickets may be purchased separately for adults with ID.

Camping not your cup of tea?

For participants needing hotel accommodations during their stay (if camping at the fort is not for you), the Challenge has reserved a block of rooms nearby at the Fairfield Inn. Call 651/454-1978 (800/932-2198) before July 13th for the group rate of $85/room and mention that you are with the Mississippi River Challenge.

A shuttle will leave the Fort Snelling festivities at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26th to take you to the hotel and will return to the Fort at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 27th for those paddling the second day.
